Help students expand and improve their vocabulary to become more confident and fluent reader!
This book was designed to support one of the essential components of the Science of Reading: Vocabulary. After learning how to say, spell, and decode words, vocabulary explores the characteristics and meanings of words. These task cards are meant for students that do not have the vocabulary they need for their grade level. Having a good vocabulary is supported by mastering a variety of skills. The task card format allows for specifically targeted practice and flexible usage: homework, seatwork, warmups, independent study, etc. The short, doable activities vary in degrees of difficulty and are colorful, engaging, and fun. While some activities may be challenging, the sense of accomplishment and skills gained are worth the effort.
